This Day That Age
The Government of India were not thinking in terms of abandoning any power project and were hopeful of fulfilling the targets in respect of power in the Second Five-Year Plan though it would take many more years to meet the entire country’s demands for power, said Mr. Jaishuklal Hathi, Deputy Minister for Irrigation and Power, intervening in the debate on the demands for grants for the Ministry of Irrigation and Power in the Lok Sabha on March 25. The debate covered a wide range of subjects like planning and execution of the projects, utilisation of power and irrigation facilities available in the country, training of personnel and the proper utilisation of the machinery.
