Naidu promises loans at 10 paise interest

Staff Reporter

GANDHARI (NIZAMABAD DT.): Telugu Desam Party president N. Chandrababu Naidu has said that if his party comes to power in the next general elections his Government will provide loans at 10 paise interest to Self Help Group women and the poor.

Tribals will be provided financial assistance in a big way. Kagitha Lambadas, who have been categorised as BCs in the Banswada area, will be included in the ST category, he said.

Mr. Chandrababu Naidu flew into Venkatapuram tanda in a private chopper on Wednesday in this mandal located in the forest belt to attend a village festival conducted on the fourth anniversary of Sri Jagadamba Matha and Santh Sevalal temple construction. Seventythree-year-old Sant Rama Rao Maharaj, guru of Lambadas, and scores of tribal leaders welcomed Mr. Naidu at the temples built at a cost of Rs.80 lakh. The TDP president was given a rousing reception by tribal men and women.

Later addressing tribals from different tandas located in the nearby forest, the former Chief Minister lauded the efforts of Sant Rama Rao Maharaj to wean away tribals from alcohol and motivating them to send their children to schools.
