Record rain in Medak

Sangareddy: Forty six Mandals of Medak received an all time record rainfall in just two days taking this year’s rainfall close to the cumulative rainfall of last rainfall year, according to Balaiah, the Chief Planning Officer of Medak district.

The monthly average rainfall which was only 3 mm till March 22 suddenly crossed 71 mm mark in just two days. RC Puram, Ramayampet, Nyalkal, Sadasivapet, Sangareddy, Hathnura, Andole received the highest rainfall. Even though the untimely rain has damaged onion and sunflower crops in the district it is expected to help sugarcane and paddy saving the farmer from at least two waterings this month. In all two hundred acres of sunflower crop was damaged in Papannapet and Kolcharam Mandals of the district.
