New HC Judge sworn in

CUTTACK: Justice S R Singaravelu was sworn in Judge of the Orissa High Court here on Wednesday. Orissa Chief Justice Justice A K Ganguly administered the oath of office to the new Judge at a simple ceremony on the HC premises.

The State Home Secretary, several senior officers, judges of the High Court and members of the bar, including State Advocate-General B K Mahanti were present at the swearing-in ceremony.

Justice Singaravelu was a judge of the Madras High Court before his present assignment. With him on the bench, the strength of judges in the Orissa High Court has gone up to 19. He is the third judge from outside the State among present HC Judges including the Chief Justice and senior Judge Justice I M Quddusi.
