Three-day vasectomy camp

Chennai: The Chennai Corporation and the Government Kilpauk Hospital will conduct a vasectomy camp on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
A release from the Corporation said experienced doctors would carry out the non-invasive procedure at the Government Kilpauk Hospital. The camp would begin at 9 a.m. each day. Every man who undergoes the procedure would be given Rs.500.
No-scalpel vasectomy is painless, takes only a few minutes, does not require sutures and is safe, the release said. After the procedure, the person can leave the hospital immediately. It is simpler than the tubectomy procedure that requires women to be hospitalised. Any clarifications on vasectomy can be cleared at Corporation welfare centres, the release said.
