Social sciences in IIITs

HYDERABAD: Information Technology Minister R. Damodar Reddy has announced that social sciences, humanities and even languages will be offered as full-time courses in the IIITs being set up at Idupalapaya, Basar and Nuzvid under the Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies.

Replying to a debate on the Bill he introduced in the Legislative Council on Wednesday providing for establishment of the university, the Minister said 33 per cent of the 6,000 seats planned under the three IIITs would be set aside for women .
