CHANDIGARH: Haryana Transport and Education Minister Mange Ram Gupta said on Wednesday that in spite of increase in the prices of diesel and other essential infrastructure, Haryana Roadways did not propose to raise the bus fares in the State. Talking to media persons, he said the Transport Department was considering plying Volvo buses on its own as the private party which had been given the contract for plying these buses had backed out and legal action had been initiated. He said there was demand from the commuters that the Volvo service be restored at the earliest. He disclosed that it had been decided in principle to shift all bus stands located in the cities to suitable sites outside the cities.
