Panther trapped, released

VALPARAI: A two-and-a-half-year-old male panther, which is believed to have attacked a woman recently, was trapped at the Nadumalai estate on the outskirts of Valparai on Wednesday. It was released at Anaikundhi Chola near Top Slip. Veterinarian N.S. Manoharan who tranquilised the animal, said the panther had regained consciousness when it was released into its habitat. — Staff Reporter
