Shubham, Nikhat for PSCBA camp

HYDERABAD: Shubham Sharma and Nikhat Banu of Andhra Pradesh have been selected for a month-long camp at the Petroleum Sports Control Board Academy (PSCBA) at Ajmer from April 1 to 30.

S.M. Sultan, vice president, Table Tennis Federation of India (TTFI) and secretary, Andhra Pradesh Table Tennis Association (APTTA) told The Hindu that the camp would be conducted by a foreign coach appointed by the Sports Authority of India.

The camp is in preparation for the Commonwealth Youth Games to be held in Pune from October 12 to 18.

By virtue of reaching the quarterfinal stage in the Nationals last year, Andhra Pradesh boys and girls teams have qualified for the National Youth Games at Bangalore, scheduled to be held from May 10 to 18, but likely to be postponed.

The national calendar will be announced after the TTFI Annual General Meeting (AGM), to be held in April or May, Mr. Sultan added.
