Decision hailed

New Delhi: Hailing the Delhi government’s initiative of reducing the stamp duty and municipal charges on property transactions, business house PHD Chamber on Wednesday said it would encourage registering property deals at full value.

“The State Government has taken an extremely positive step in the 2008-09 budget by reducing the stamp duty on property transactions from 8 per cent to 6 per cent for men and a lower 4 per cent for registrations in the name of women,” Krishan Kalra, secretary general, PHD Chamber said.
