Seminar on waste treatment

KOCHI: Centre for Rural Development and Appropriate Technology (CRDAT) at Cochin University of Science and Technology (Cusat) and Kochi-based Centre for Environment and Waste Management will organise a seminar on decentralised waste treatment here on April 7 and 8.

Paloli Mohammed Kutty, Minister for Local Self-Government, will inaugurate the event. Water Resources Minister N.K. Premachandran will deliver the keynote address. D. Rajasenan, Director of CRDAT, said here on Wednesday that various aspects related to decentralised waste treatment would be discussed during the two-day seminar.

Papers on “Speedy processing of municipal solid waste,” “Solid waste treatment and related organic processing systems,” “Slaughter house waste,” “Decentralised wastewater treatment” and “Legal aspects of waste processing,’ were submitted.
