Absence of police officers questioned
NEW DELHI: The Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Assembly, Jagdish Mukhi, on Wednesday raised the issue of no senior Delhi police officer being present at the cremation of Assistant Commissioner of Police Rajbir Singh, who was shot dead allegedly by a property dealer following a dispute over money in neighbouring Gurgaon on Monday night.
Drawing attention of the House towards reports that no senior police officer was present at Rajbir’s cremation at his village in Rewari, Prof. Mukhi said it was a matter of shame as the officer was a recipient of gallantry awards and police medals.
The Speaker, Chaudhary Prem Singh, told Prof. Mukhi that his views would be conveyed to the Police Commissioner.
