Clarification on fee

Thiruvananthapuram: The Central Public Information Officer and Sr. Deputy Accountant General (A) of the Office of the AG (A&E) here said that requisitions under the Right to Information Act sent to the office should be accompanied by fee in the form of cash against proper receipt, demand draft or bankers’ cheque drawn in favour of the Accounts Officer (Cash), Office of the Accountant General (A&E) or Indian postal orders. A press note here stated that that requisitions received along with fee in any other format or no fee cannot be acted upon. The clarification has been issued in the context of the office getting requisitions with court fee stamps affixed to them. — Special Correspondent
