Bag merchant murdered crime notes

Bangalore: Usman (38), a bag merchant, was found murdered at his residence in 3rd Main, 3rd Cross, Kamala Nehru Nagar in Yeshwanthapur police station limits on Tuesday afternoon.

The police suspect that the person who accompanied Usman to his residence on Monday might have committed the crime.

Injuries

The police said that they found injuries on Usman’s body, and he might have had a scuffle with the person before he was killed.

The incident came to light on Tuesday afternoon when the owner of the house saw the body of Usman through the window.

Yeshwanthapur police have registered a case and are investigating.

Convicted

Fifth Additional City Metropolitan Magistrate, Bangalore, convicted Rama alias Mathirama of Chennenahalli in Magadi taluk and Ramakrishna of Panchasheelanagar in Mudalapalya for two years simple imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs. 2,000 after being found guilty of theft.

Theft

Both the accused were found guilty of carrying out a theft at the house belonging to Sidduraju in Ramamandira Road in Kamakshipalya police station limits.

The verdict was announced by Fifth Additional City Metropolitan Judge S.K. Taarimane on March 18.

Gamblers caught

The Whitefield police arrested five persons for their alleged involvement in gambling.

The police gave the names of the arrested as M.R. Devaraju (30), A. Narayanappa (40), N.V. Santosh (27), A. Anjanappa (37) and Srinivas (46).

They said the accused were caught while they were organising “cock fight” and placing bets in Nagondanahalli in Whitefield police station limits on March 22.

The police have recovered Rs. 9,400 and vehicles estimated at Rs. 2.26 lakh.

Whitefield police have registered a case.
