Intercollegiate management meet held


Twelve colleges from in and around Puducherry participated

Manakula Vinayagar College of Engineering bagged overall trophy


PUDUCHERRY: It was a challenge for future management gurus to exhibit their managerial and leadership skills at Genial, an intercollegiate management meet held on Wednesday.

The meet, organised by the Department of International Business, School of Management of Pondicherry University, was aimed at enhancing the managerial, leadership and multi-disciplinary skills among students.

The intercollegiate meet also sought to maximise the organising skills of management students and develop interpersonal skills among them. For this, a number of events such as face off, know your customers, business quiz, business plan and best manager were held.

Inaugurating the meet, Director of Culture and Cultural Relations of the University A. Balasubramanian stressed on the importance of multi-disciplinary skills to meet the challenges of the corporate world today.

Senior Vice-President of Orchid Chemical and Pharmaceuticals S. Mani asked students to develop their relationship management skills to be successful in a competitive environment.

Twelve colleges from in and around Puducherry participated in a number of events which tested their skills like that of handling customers, general and business knowledge, strategy for business plan and ability to make quick and right moves.

Manakula Vinayagar College of Engineering bagged the overall trophy. Students from Rajiv Gandhi Engineering College, Saradha Gangadharan College, Aravindar Arts and Science College, Pondicherry Engineering College and Bharathidasan Government College for women participated in the meet.
