Boy caught for selling arrack

VANIYAMBADI: The Vaniyambadi taluk police arrested a 14-year old boy from Ambur in Vellore District for selling arrack at Indira Nagar, Vaniyambadi, here on Thursday.

According to the police, the Standard IX student of Ambur along with two others was selling arrack at Indira Nagar in Vaniyambadi adjoining a hilly area. The boy was helping his aunt in selling the brew.

Based on a tip-off, the police raided the spot and caught the boy. Two of his companions escaped. The police sent the boy a juvenile home in Chennai.
