Health insurance for all PG students of BU
Staff Reporter
Bangalore: Several student-friendly initiatives were approved by the Bangalore University Syndicate on Monday.
The Syndicate approved the proposal to provide health insurance to all postgraduate students, students of the University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering and University Law College.
A Syndicate member told The Hindu that the university would be spending around Rs. 15 lakh a year towards the health insurance for students.
“The Syndicate deliberated on the issue. The university is keen to encourage students, especially those coming from rural areas, to pursue their education. This is just one of the means to do that,” the member said.
