ANANTAPUR: District Collector N. Sridhar on Thursday recommended the suspension of Deputy Director of Social Welfare A.V. Ramanachary and suspended Assistant Social Welfare Officer, Kadiri, P. Nooruddin, for allegedly demanding bribe. The episode came into light following a sting operation by a private television channel. The Deputy Director and the ASWO allegedly demanded Rs. 2 lakh from one P. Gopi of Thappetavaripalle in Mudigubba mandal for appointing him as house welfare officer (warden). The DD went on leave immediately after the episode was telecast by the news channel.
