BHUBANESWAR: Noted social activist Rajendra Sarangi passed away after suffering from brain malaria here on Thursday. Sarangi was 48 and is survived by his only son. The veteran social activist was cremated at Satyanagar Crematorium here. He led several social and anti-displacement movements in the State. Sarangi hailed from Narisha village near Niali in Cuttack district. Activist Prafulla Samantra, convenor of All India Lawyers’ Union Bibhu Prasad Tripathy and activist Sudhir Patnaik condoled the death.
