HYDERABAD: The Government has earmarked Rs.4.33 crore towards various emoluments, allowances and privileges, including salary for the Governor and his establishment, in the budget for 2008-09. Governor’s payAccording to the demands pertaining to the Governor and the Council of Ministers, which was among the 36 demands guillotined in the Assembly on Thursday, the salary of the Governor is Rs.4.45 lakh. Other expensesThe other expenses are—secretariat staff of the Governor ( Rs.1,54,33,000), discretionary grants (Rs.10 lakh), household establishment (Rs.1,72,65,000), medical facilities to the Governor and family and staff (Rs.40.23 lakh), entertainment and hospitality expenses (Rs.18.5 lakh), expenditure from contract allowance (Rs.8.10 lakhs) tour expenses (Rs.12.10 lakh) and other expenditure (furniture, establishment, furnishings, Raj Bhavan gardens Rs.13.05 lakh—total Rs.4,33,41,000). An amount of Rs.11.61 crore was allocated to the meet the expenditure towards payment of salaries, tour expenses, grants-in-aid, maintenance of vehicles and other expenses of the Chief Minister, Ministers and advisers. The total expenditure of both Raj Bhavan and the Council of Ministers thus totals over Rs.15.94 crore.
