Police raid offices, houses of 7 officials

BANGALORE: The Lokayukta police on Thursday raided the residences and offices of seven officials and found assets allegedly disproportionate to their known sources of income. The raids were conducted just a day after the Lokayukta introduced a new feature on its website (http://lokayukta.kar.nic.in) seeking information about officials suspected of possessing assets disproportionate to their known sources of income.

The raids were conducted simultaneously in Bangalore, Mysore, Bellary, Hassan, Tumkur and Mangalore. Till evening, assets worth about Rs. 15 crore were recovered. This is the fourth time that the Lokayukta police conducted raids simultaneously.
