dated March 28, 1958: Nationalised bus transport

The Madras Government would accelerate nationalisation of bus transport to the extent their finances permitted, stated Mr. R. Venkataraman, Minister for Industries, who is in charge of Nationalised Transport, in the Legislative Assembly on March 27. Mr. Venkataraman informed the House that the State Government had addressed the Government of India to get the services of an expert from the ILO, to enquire into the State transport system in Madras and that they could effect improvement of the recommendations of such an expert.
