Letters to the Editor
With senior IPS officer R.K. Sharma sentenced to life imprisonment, justice has been done in the Shivani Bhatnagar murder case. But the judge’s reference to his excellent service record was surprising. The officer has been found guilty of planning and supervising the murder of a woman. So whatever good he might have done earlier should not have been taken into account while passing the judgment. Shivani’s was a cold-blooded, well-planned murder, not a crime committed in a momentary phase of insanity. Sikander Khan, New Delhi B.S. Ganesh, Bangalore
