Rain sinks part of ‘magic box’ embankment

Bangalore: A portion of the embankment of Cauvery junction underpass sank on Thursday afternoon after heavy rains on Wednesday night. However, the underpass is intact.

The mud sank when the traffic police were monitoring the vehicle movements near the underpass. They diverted the vehicles as a precautionary measure. Following this, the road over the underpass was closed between noon and 4 p.m. and vehicles going towards Mehkri Circle were allowed to go straight instead of taking a U-turn on the underpass.
