VISAKHAPATNAM: Officials of the Anti-Corruption Bureau on Thursday unearthed assets worth over Rs.1 crore following simultaneous searches conducted at the houses and office of Annapaneni Dharma Rao, Tahsildar of Parawada Mandal in Visakhapatnam district, and on the houses belonging to his close relatives and friends.
According to ACB DSP of Police B. Atchuta Rao, the immovable assets included a house, 27 house-sites, 21 acres around the city and in West Godavari district, all worth Rs.87,35,920. The movable properties included four bank accounts with a total balance of Rs.2,08,000, gold jewellery and silver articles, donation certificates in TTD worth Rs.5.85 lakhs, shares valued at Rs.75,000, household articles worth Rs.1.5 lakhs, insurance policies of Rs.2.68 lakhs and Rs.50,000. The total assets were worth Rs.1,01,11,290.
He said two bank lockers were yet to be opened. The accused is away in Hyderabad. The raids were conducted by the DSP under the supervision of Joint Director K. Srinivasa Reddy.
