Water situation critical

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: The Capital continues to face a water shortage despite requesting Haryana to release more water. With the status quo continuing, the pond level at Wazirabad remained at a critical 672.3 feet on Thursday.

The Chandrawal and Wazirabad water treatment plants also continue to function below full capacity. Supply of water to the areas on the command of these two water treatment plants has been reduced.

These areas are being supplied water just once a day.

Officials said water was being rationed to ensure that no area goes completely dry.
