Third phase to include auditorium, library and discussion room Chief Justice urges Bar to encourage upcoming advocates BANGALORE: Governor Rameshwar Thakur on Thursday assured the legal fraternity that he would release Rs. 9 crore for taking up the third phase of the construction of the Vakeelara Bhavan complex on the premises of the District and Sessions Court complex in Bangalore. The third phase includes construction of a library, bank, cooperative society, public lounge, auditorium and discussion room for advocates. The Governor was speaking at the inauguration of the second phase of the construction of the Vakeelara Bhavan. The Chief Justice of Karnataka High Court, Cyriac Joseph, urged the association to provide more opportunities to the young members of the Bar. He suggested to the association that it could request the Governor to release funds for the third phase. Advocate-General B.V. Acharya and the former Advocate-General R.N. Narasimha Murthy urged the younger members of the Bar to make use of the facilities available. K.N. Putte Gowda of the Building Committee read out the report. Advocates’ Association of Bangalore president D.L. Jagadeesh said Rs. 3.28 crore had been spent in the first phase, Rs. 2 crore in the second phase. About Rs. 9 crore was needed for the third phase, Mr. Jagadeesh added Several High Court judges, presiding officers of the subordinate judiciary, advocates and court staff were present.
