Three held for impersonation

In custody: Students impersonating at the SSC exams being led away after they were arrested in Sangareddy on Thursday.

Sangareddy: The police arrested three intermediate students Pratap, Ajay and Mahesh Chary here on Thursday while they were appearing for the English examination posing as SSC private candidates at the Shantiniketan School near the district courts.

According to town sub-inspector Sridhar Reddy the three students -- Bhikshapathi, Kishore and Bhikshapathi -- were promised help by Vijay, a teacher at a private school, that he could arrange writers for them to pass the SSC examinations.

However, the police got credible information about the plot and the three were caught red-handed while they were writing the exam.

Police booked cases of cheating, impersonation and forgery against the three intermediate students. Meanwhile, the three private candidates were debarred from taking SSC examinations for three years.

Assistant commissioner of school education Shyam Kumar visited the school and recommended action against the staff of the school.

He also directed the DEO to initiate necessary action against the three SSC students.
