Tahsildar caught in ACB net

VISAKHAPATNAM: A Tahsildar was booked by the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths in a disproportionate assets case on Thursday.

A. Dharma Rao, Tahsildar of Parawada mandal on the city outskirts, had amassed property worth Rs.1 crore in the form of 27 house-sites, 21 acres of land and some houses in Visakhapatnam and West Godavari districts. “On a tip off, we conducted searches at Dharma Rao’s residence in the city, the Tahsildar Office at Parawada, houses of two of his friends at Vizag, at the residence of his wife who is a lecturer in Eluru, his ancestral house and his father-in-law’s house in West Godavari district,” B. Atchuta Rao, ACB Deputy Superintendent of Police said.

The raids were conducted by the DSP and his team under the supervision of ACB Joint Director K. Srinivasa Reddy who came here from Hyderabad.
