Cleaning operations: The staff of the Thiruvananthapuram district court cleaning up the premises of the court complex as part of a State-level programme for vector source reduction on Friday. Thiruvananthapuram: The Directorate of Health Services, as part of a State-level programme for vector source reduction activities, decided to clear all garbage on the premises of the office of the DHS once every week and to ensure that there is no water stagnation. On Friday, the State-level programme was officially kicked off by Director of Health Services K. Shailaja on the DHS premises. All officials and programme officers in the DHS took part in the cleaning activities. All employees were asked to ensure that ‘dry day’ was observed once every week. Plastic garbage, empty bottles and all articles, which could be receptacles for water, were cleared. Major cleaning activities were organised in several government institution premises as part of the State-wide campaign for source reduction.
