Unique Janata Adalat

Correspondent

Sirsi: Uttar Kannada District Working Journalists’ Association and Sanmati Sahitya Peetha Sirsi have jointly organised “Janata Adalat” for contesting candidates from different parties in the district in forthcoming Assembly elections, on Saturday and Sunday at Sirsi.

In the “Janata Adalat”, the media and the public will discuss issues of six Assembly constituencies of the district with likely candidates of the different parties, said K.R. Prakash and Prof. Dharanendra Kurkuri, who are organising the event. In five rounds of discussions, candidates who are likely to contest will meet the press, public (voters), experts and have to disclose their personal assets, properties and services rendered till date. The last round will be with “punch” questions on candidates themselves. The parties’ district unit presidents have agreed to send their party’s possible candidates to the “Janata Adalat”, the organisers said. More than this, such candidates are to give their vision and mission of their respective constituencies, the organisers said.
