GULBARGA: Residents of the Sheikh Roza Ashraya Colony in Gulbarga on Friday staged a dharna in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office demanding basic civic amenities in their colony immediately. The residents who took out a procession to the Deputy Commissioner’s office under the banner of the city unit of the Dalit Panthers of India demanded action against the Commissioner of the Gulbarga City Corporation for his alleged failure to provide basic civic amenities, including street lights and drinking water. They also demanded that 52 beneficiaries who have been provided houses under the Slum Clearance Board activities in the Darshanapur GDA Layout should be immediately given record of rights. — Special Correspondent
