K.P. Jain new DGP

CHENNAI: K.P. Jain, IPS, will be the new Director General of Police in place of P. Rajendran, IPS, due to retire on March 31, according to an official release.
Mr. Jain, who belongs to the 1971 batch of IPS officers, is currently Chairman-cum-Managing Director of the Tamil Nadu Police Housing Corporation. He is expected to take charge on March 31.
He started his career as Assistant Superintendent of Police (Training), Salem, and served in various capacities including SP Madurai (South and North), Vigilance and Anti-Corruption and Railways.
Deputed to the Intelligence Bureau in 1983 as Assistant Director, Mr. Jain rose to the position of Joint Director in the organisation.
