KOCHI: The International Centre for Koodiyattam, Thripunithura, on Sunday will be honouring two noted artists who had won the Padmashri award this year. P.K. Narayanan Nambiar, who is not just an exemplary mizhavu exponent but has also excelled as a Koodiyattam artiste, author of Koodiyattam scripts and books on various aspects of Koodiyattam and also Chakyarkooth, will be honoured along with Ammanur Kochukuttan Chakyar, who has earned a name in Koodiyattam, mainly donning the Vidushakan’s role. He is also an exponent of Chakyarkooth. Noted poet D. Vinayachandran will do the honours at the function at Rugmini Kalyana Mandapam, Statue Junction, Thripunithura at 4.30 p.m. Dr. K.G. Paulose, Vice-Chancellor, Kalamandalam Deemed University, will also participate. Koodiyattam performance
‘Thoranayuddham’ will be presented by the artistes from Painkulam Ramachakyar Smaraka Kalapeetam on the occasion at 6 p.m.
