U.S. offers ‘full support’ to Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: A senior U.S. envoy says Washington has offered its “full support” to the new Pakistani government dominated by foes of America’s long-time ally, President Pervez Musharraf.

Assistant Secretary of State Richard Boucher told reporters Friday that the U.S. “wants to partner with Pakistan” as the new government “lays out its plans.”

Mr. Boucher also said “very dangerous people” were plotting attacks in tribal areas along Pakistan’s border with Afghanistan. — AP
