Kolkata and Mumbai in final

MANGALORE: Kolkata Port Trust and Mumbai Port Trust entered the 31st all-India Major Ports table tennis tournament final at the Gymkhana court of New Mangalore Port Trust, Panambur, here on Friday. While Kolkatta blanked Visakhapatnam 3-0 in the first semifinals, Mumbai pulled of a similar result against Kandla in the second semifinals.

The scores (semifinals): Kolkata beat Visakhapatnam 3-0 (De Sarkar bt D. Sureu 11-3, 11-2, 11-2; A. Mukherji bt G.V.S. Rama Rao 11-6, 11-4, 11-8; and A.L. Chowdhary bt V.V. Rao 11-6, 11-2, 11-8); Mumbai beat Kandla 3-0 (Pankaj Kadoo bt Prashanth Buch 11-6, 11-2, 11-8; Sunil Kelkar bt Mahesh Hingorani 5-11, 14-12, 11-9, 11-8; and Sanjay Patanbau beat Manish Hingorani 8-11, 11-4, 11-2, and 11-8). — Staff Correspondent
