Planting for the future

TARGETING HIGHER RUBBER OUTPUT: A lady worker engaged in a rubber nursery in Chalakudy near Kochi. The Union Government has approved two projects, together worth Rs. 510 crore, to increase rubber productivity. Of this Rs. 240 crore pertains to replanting in the existing acreage and the remaining seeks to extend spread of rubber in the north east parts of the country.
