Minister expresses concern
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Revenue Minister K.P. Rajendran has written to the Centre expressing concern over the delay in the visit of a Central team for assessing crop damage caused by heavy rain. The Minister said though the Centre had assured that the team members would arrive in the State this week itself, the indications were that they would be delayed until early next week. In a fax message to Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil, Mr. Rajendan noted that the State government would not be able to convince the team of the damages if the visit was delayed. He also urged the Union Minister to sanction an assistance of Rs.150 core urgently.
