Original deadline was fixed at March 31 On Friday officials receive over 500 applications HYDERABAD: With the municipal offices receiving a flood of applications for regularising unauthorised and illegal buildings through penal payments under the Compulsory Disclosure Scheme (CDS) in the last few days, the State government is seriously considering to extend the last date for submitting applications by one more month. The original deadline was fixed for March-end for submitting applications but they became a trickle and municipal bodies too refrained from publicising the scheme once the matter reached the High Court. Court directiveBut, with the court directing that no more unauthorised constructions be allowed and action can be taken against such structures built after December 15, 2007, there is likely to be flurry of activity in the municipal offices. On Friday, more than 500 applications are said to have been received for regularisation in the twin cities alone taking the total number to about 7,000. Officials are now advising citizens to start applying with the necessary documents including the re-drawn building plan by an empanelled technical person, land value document from the registration department and a demand draft for the penal fee as per the prescribed slab without any further delay. Final clearanceHowever, at the same time they are also making it clear that even after submitting the application and documents, the final clearance or the occupation certificate regularising an apartment or building will be given only after the final order by High Court. Sufficient handbooksOfficials stated that sufficient number of handbooks containing application forms is available in the respective circle offices and more will be supplied if needed. Citizens keen to regularise their respective apartment or buildings will now have 33 days more to file their applications once the official announcement of extending the last date comes in the next couple of days.
