PUDUCHERRY: Two separate buildings for biotechnology and electronic media were inaugurated at the Pondicherry University on Saturday. The biotechnology building, built at a cost of Rs.2.16 crore, has two storeys with a total plinth area of 1,914 sq.m. It comprises an instrumentation room, plants tissue culture, cold room, sterilisation room, fermentation room, laboratories, seminar hall, faculty rooms and class rooms. University Grants Commission chairman Sukhadeo Thorat inaugurated the biotechnology building and the Centre for Electronic Media and Mass Communication.
