SBI’s credit processing cell shifted to new premises

Staff Reporter

PUDUCHERRY: Chief Minister N. Rangasamy on Saturday inaugurated the new premises of the Centralised Credit Processing Cell (CCPC) of State Bank of India at Anna Salai.

In his inaugural address, Mr Rangasamy appealed to all nationalised banks to extend credit facility for farmers and unemployed youth for taking up self-employment.

Lauding the SBI for starting a loan processing cell, he expressed optimism that people of Puducherry would benefit greatly out of the initiative.

Presiding over the function, J. Chandrasekaran, Chief General Manager, Chennai Circle, SBI, said the CCPC would enable branches to focus on customer services and business processing.

The Cell would assist in processing requests for loan, sanctioning and disbursal of the amount to the applicants, Mr. Chandrasekaran said. The new venture would help speed up disbursal of loans through timely assistance provided by experts dealing with various products of the bank, he further said.

An assistant general manager of the SBI would head the cell, he added. Currently there were 13 branches of SBI connected to the Cell and more branches would be linked in due course, he said.

In his address, Anoop K. Prabhakar, general manager of SBI said steps had been taken to make banking process more inclusive in consonance with the Government of India guidelines.
