Held on cheating charge

Bangalore: The Commercial Street police on Thursday arrested a man for cheating Suresh Dasappa, a businessman, of his foreign currency.

The police said that J. Najunda Shetty (34) was arrested for cheating Mr. Dasappa of $10,000 and 10,000 Euro currencies. Nanjunda Shetty who is the Puttaparthi franchisee of the Bangalore-based Trans Global Forex India Private Limited told Mr. Dasappa that he would get the currency exchanged and fled with his family. On a complaint from Mr. Dasappa, the police nabbed Shetty in Puttur. The police said Shetty had deposited the money in various accounts held by his wife and himself in post office and Syndicate Bank in Puttur.
