Kozhikode: The Kalpetta bamboo cluster of Khadi and Village Industries Commission that aims at development of the bamboo sector in Wayanad was launched at Trikkaipetta on Friday. M.V. Sreyamskumar, MLA, inaugurated the cluster at a function held on the campus of Uravu, an NGO engaged on promoting bamboo-based activities in Wayanad. K.K. Gupta, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Khadi and Village Industries Commission, said launching of the cluster would increase employment opportunities. Bamboo clusters receive financial assistance from Khadi and Village Industries Commission. — Special Correspondent
