PUDUCHERRY: A local court has directed the Vigilance and Anti-corruption Department to register a case and conduct an inquiry against former Chief Secretary of Puducherry C. S Khairwal for allegedly committing financial irregularity. Chief Judge D. Krishnaraja on Friday passed the order based on two petitions filed by a lawyer Karthikeyan. In the complaint, Mr Karthikeyan had charged Mr. Khairwal of misusing his official position “to sanction special remuneration and fraudulently obtaining salary from both the Election and Police Department for performing overall poll duty during last assembly election.” — Staff Reporter
