BHOPAL: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has described the arrest of the Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) general secretary Safdar Nagori and 12 other members of the banned organisation as a major achievement. The Chief Minister said the arrest of “hardcore” SIMI activists should be viewed as an international achievement. Announcing rewards for the police team involved in the entire operation leading to the arrest of the SIMI activists in a pre-dawn raid on Thursday, the Chief Minister said pistols would be presented to all police officers involved, including the Indore Inspector-General of Police, DIG of Police, S.P. and Additional SP. The sub-inspectors in the special police team would get a reward of Rs.1 lakh while the head constables and constables would be given a cash reward of Rs.50,000 each. He made a special mention of ASI Yogesh Sharma and said he would also be honoured with a special reward of Rs.1 lakh.
