JAIPUR: Rajasthan Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Minister Prabhulal Saini has called for associating more women with self-help groups, especially in the dairy sector, to ensure their contribution to the State’s economy which he said would lead to their own empowerment. Inspecting the Saras Dairy plant in Alwar over the weekend, Mr. Saini said as many as 19 federations of dairy groups were functioning across the State and there was a vast scope for women to join them and earn a decent livelihood. Mr. Saini pointed out that that milk collection in Rajasthan had shot up from 13 lakh litres a day to 19 lakh litres. Use of modern technology in agriculture and animal husbandry sectors would lead to a significant increase in the output, he added. The Minister pointed out that the State Government had developed four cattle farms to improve the breeds of cows and buffaloes. The Chairman of the Rajasthan Cooperative Dairy Federation, O.P.
