Typists, stenographers for job regularisation

Staff Reporter

TIRUNELVELI: The recently terminated and reinstated temporary typists and stenographers have appealed to the State Government to appoint them in permanent posts.

At a meeting here on Saturday, members of the Tamil Nadu Temporary Typists and Stenographers Association said the government, which terminated the temporary workers, had reinstated them after protests by the affected on March 24 and 25 and extended their tenure by another three months.

Instead, the State Government should make the postings permanent after completely cancelling the ‘three-month extension order.’

Since the temporarily posted typists and stenographers would be affected if the results of the examination conducted by the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission for these posts were declared, the government should take immediate steps to absorb the transitory candidates, they said.

The district president of the association, A. Thiruvambalam, presided over the meeting in which around 75 persons participated.
