NEW DELHI: Senior advocate and Union Science and Technology Minister Kapil Sibal, who is on a two-day bilateral visit to the Netherlands, met the president of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) Rosalyn Higgins. (The ICJ is the highest judicial organ of the United Nations with its headquarters in The Hague.) Ms. Higgins lauded India’s support to the ICJ and recalled the contributions made by Indian members of the Court. It is now grappling with the issues of applicability of international law in the enforcement of municipal laws. Mr. Sibal will sign a memorandum of understanding with the Dutch Minister for Economic Affairs Maria Van der Hoeven for cooperation in science, technology and innovation.
