High Court FC defeats Victoria FC

Madurai: High Court Football Club posted a 3-2 victory over Victoria Football Club in the Madurai District Football Association ‘B’ division league for Hi-Tech Arai Trophy here on Saturday.

The results (‘B’ division):

High Court FC 3 (Velanganni Regan 2, Prabu) bt Victoria FC 2 (Jeyakumar, Rajeevkumar); Thiagarajar College of Engg. 4 (Mohamed, Paralin, Mariana Jotty, Ramanathan) bt MSSWB College 2 (Alamin, Ramanathan).

‘C’ division: RL Institute 5 (Vinodh Kumar, Jeevan, Anil Thomas, Desikan Gopalan, Deepakumar) bt Muthu memorial FC 0; Vaigai Sports Club 2 (Soundara Pandian, Saravanan) bt Olympian XI 0.

Golden Blues registers win

Golden Blues Football Club, Karaikudi registered a lone-goal victory over Friends Football Club, Kandanur in the Sivagangai District Football Association ‘B’ division league at Karaikudi on Saturday.

The results:

Golden Blues 1 (Rajeev) bt Friends FC, Kandanur 0; Amaravathi Pudur FC 2 (Azees, Namasivayam) bt Blues FC, Velangudi 1 (Periannan).

Winner SC, Vairavapuram 2 (Justin, Kamal) bt Newland FC, Puduvayal 0; Vivekananda FC, Velangudi 2 (Ravichandran 2) bt Nehru Youth FC, Kothari 0.

Anoop nets winner

A 52nd minute strike by Anoop helped Bright Star Football Club defeat St. Xavier’s College 1-0 for its second win in the Tirunelveli District Football Association four-team super league at Palayamkottai on Saturday.

R.V.S. scores win

R.V.S. Engineering College beat Arulmigu Palaniandavar Arts College, Palani by five wickets in the Dindigul District inter-collegiate cricket league for RVS Trophy at Dindigul on Saturday.

The scores:

APA College, Palani 59 in 15.3 overs lost to RVS Engg. College 60 for five in 14.5 overs.

PVP College, Pannaikadu 149 in 20 overs (T. Pandithurai 49) bt NPR College, Natham 136 for nine in 20 overs (S. Madhan four for 37).
