Laxmipur bypoll: five left in fray

KORAPUT: Five candidates were left in the fray for Laxmipur byelection with after two independent candidates Kamal Lochan Saunta and Balikabati Kulasika withdrew nominations on the last day of withdrawals on Saturday. The contestants are: Purna Chandra Majhi (Congress), Bibhisan Majhi (BJD), Upendra Majhi (Samrudha Odisa), Kumuda Saunta (Samajbadi Party) and D.Tirupati (Republican India). Meanwhile S.K.Das and Prabhansu Kamal, election observers, visited the constituency to assess the situation.
